Job summary

MetroHealth Parma Health Center is seeking a registered nurse to join the Acute Care Adult Medical/Post-Surgical Unit. You will provide bedside care, monitor telemetry, and support recovery for trauma and post-surgical patients on a 7a-7p shift with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualified candidates hold Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and preferably a BSN; a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualifying experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on the Acute Care Adult Medical/Post-Surgical Unit (Parma Inpatient).
• Perform IV insertions, blood draws, and post-surgical care.
• Monitor telemetry and patient status.
• Demonstrate time management, critical thinking, and appropriate delegation.

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Medical
• Post-Surgical
• Trauma- Level 3 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV insertions, blood draws, post-surgical care
• Telemetry monitoring
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy

Number of beds on unit:

• 15 beds plus 1 Trauma bed as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
