Job summary

MetroHealth Parma Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Acute Care Adult Medical/Post-Surgical Unit. The RN will deliver high-quality patient care on a 15-bed unit with a Trauma bed as needed, utilizing telemetry and post-surgical protocols.

You will collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, providers, and therapy teams to perform IV insertions, blood draws, and ensure patient safety while participating in rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and Ohio RN licensure.
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers, or within 90 days of hire.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute care for Medical/Post-Surgical patients on Parma unit.
• Perform IV/invasive procedures, blood draws and telemetry monitoring.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, providers and therapy teams to coordinate care.

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Medical
• Post-Surgical
• Trauma- Level 3 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV insertions, blood draws, post-surgical care

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy

Number of beds on unit:

• 15 beds plus 1 Trauma bed as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
