Job summary

Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan, KS seeks a Registered Nurse for Surgical Services. You will execute scrub and circulator duties, assist surgeons, and ensure sterile technique and patient safety in a fast-paced operating room.

The role requires Kansas RN licensure, ACLS/BLS within specified timelines, and a nursing diploma or equivalent licensure. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered and you will join a supportive team dedicated to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• ABLS/ACLS and/or BLS certifications within specified timelines as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions with proper instrumentation handling.
• Act as circulator, monitor patient status, document, and communicate in real time.
• Assist surgeons with hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure and patient positioning.
• Oversee preparation and sterilization of rooms and instruments.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Execute scrub functions, including selection and sterile handling of instrumentation and supplies.
• Execute circulator functions, including monitoring, documentation, and real-time communication.
• Partner with surgeons to facilitate hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and optimal patient positioning.
• Oversee the preparation and sterilizations of rooms, surgical instruments, and high-tech equipment.
• Deliver nursing care while maintaining a focus on safety, sterility, and clinical outcomes.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
