Job summary

Ascension is hiring an ICU nurse for Via Christi, St. Teresa in Wichita, KS. This night shift, full-time role focuses on implementing personalized care plans and coordinating across medical disciplines.

Candidates must be a Kansas-licensed RN with BLS and ACLS within specified timelines; a Diploma from an accredited nursing program; and eligibility for tuition discounts through our academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date or transfer date required.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire date or transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of implementing and evolving personalized care plans, ensuring every clinical intervention aligns with the patient’s unique needs.
• Meticulously monitor and communicate changes in patient condition, acting as the vital link between the bedside and the broader medical team, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
• Serve as the primary coordinator across all medical disciplines, harmonizing efforts between specialists, therapists, and physicians to deliver seamless, holistic care.
• Interpret and carry out physician and nursing orders with a high degree of clinical expertise, maintaining the highest standards of safety and excellence.
• Participate in the discharge planning process, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure patients and their families are prepared and supported for their journey home.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
