Job summary

Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita, KS seeks an experienced OR Circulating Nurse to join Surgical Services on evenings, full-time schedule. You’ll scrub, circulate, assist surgeons, and ensure Sterile processing and patient safety throughout procedures.

Requirements include Kansas RN license, ALS within 6 months, BLS within 30 days, and a nursing diploma or equivalent licensure. OR circulator experience is preferred. Sign-on bonus $7,500 in effect.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) within 180 days of hire date.
• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
• OR circulator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute scrub functions, including selection and sterile handling of instrumentation and supplies.
• Execute circulator functions, including monitoring, documentation, and real-time communication.
• Partner with surgeons to facilitate hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and optimal patient positioning.
• Oversee the preparation and sterilizations of rooms, surgical instruments, and high-tech equipment.
• Deliver nursing care while maintaining a focus on safety, sterility, and clinical outcomes.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
