Job summary

Ascension Seton Hays in Kyle, TX seeks an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for night, full-time hours. You will scrub and circulate, assist surgeons, and maintain sterile fields across diverse procedures while coordinating care for patient safety.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed by the Texas Board of Nursing before hire date.
• ALS/ACLS within 6 months of hire or transfer; BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and circulating responsibilities as an Operating Room RN, selecting instruments and maintaining sterile fields.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient safety and positioning before, during, and after surgery; document in EHR.
• Assist surgeons with hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure to improve outcomes and reduce complications.
• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment; ensure infection control and perioperative safety protocols.

• Assist surgeons with hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure, delivering precise intraoperative support that improves outcomes and reduces complications across surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment, implementing infection control and quality improvement standards to ensure readiness, efficiency, and compliance with perioperative safety protocols.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• 2 plus years Operating Room/Circulating RN experience in a trauma hospital.
• OR Charge Nurse experience a plus!
• Well-rounded in all specialties: Trauma, Neuro, Spine, General, ENT, Plastics, Ortho, Vascular, and OB-GYN.
• 40 hours per week Monday - Thursday 8:30pm - 7am
