Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced RN for the Operating Room to join a full-time, days schedule. You will act as the patient’s advocate, ensure sterile field integrity, and coordinate OR operations to support the surgical team.

The role emphasizes patient safety, advanced nursing practice in the OR, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team within a leading healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN for Tennessee or valid multi-state license (Compact State) before hire date.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire date; BLS within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Patient Advocate: be the patient’s voice during vulnerable moments, documenting their condition with clinical precision.
• Safety & Sterile Field: maintain sterility and ensure accurate patient positioning, equipment, and supply management across procedures.
• OR Operations: anticipate needs and coordinate prep of technology and supplies to ensure flawless procedures.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Clinical Advocate & Care Strategist: You are the patientâs primary voice during their most vulnerable moments. By monitoring, recording, and communicating their condition with clinical precision, you ensure a safe, seamless transition to recovery.
• Safety & Precision Sentinel: Serve as the final authority on the sterile field. You’ll maintain absolute integrity over patient positioning, equipment optimization, and supply management, ensuring 100% accuracy from the first incision to the final closure.
• Master of OR Operations: Lead the rhythm of the room. By staying three steps ahead of the surgical team, you’ll orchestrate the preparation of cutting-edge technology and supplies to ensure every procedure is executed flawlessly.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of
• hire.
