Job summary

Ascension in Kyle, TX is seeking a Telemetry Med-Surg RN for a PRN daytime role in the Observation department. You will implement and monitor personalized patient care plans and coordinate with the care team to ensure safety and quality.

The role requires a TX RN license, BLS within 30 days, and a Diploma in Nursing; 1 year Telemetry Med-Surg experience is preferred, with a Bachelor’s degree being a plus.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas required or to be obtained prior to hire.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or professional licensure at time of hire.
• 1 year Telemetry Med-Surg experience preferred.
• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care planning: implement and track evidence-based patient care plans.
• Clinical monitoring: record and communicate real-time condition changes to the care team.
• Interdisciplinary lead: coordinate multidisciplinary teams for seamless outcomes.
• Order execution: carry out physician and nursing directives with accuracy.
• Transition strategy: manage discharge planning for safe patient transitions.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

What Additional Preferences We're Seeking

• 1 year previous Telemetry Med-Surg experience preferred.
• Bachelors in Nursing preferred
