Job summary

Westfields Hospital & Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med/Surg department to support patients in a critical access hospital setting. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to assess and document patient status and ensure high-quality care.

The role requires Wisconsin RN licensure, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and preferred EPIC experience. Schedule includes 20 hours weekly (0.5 FTE), evenings/nights, and every third weekend, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in Wisconsin is required.
• BLS Certification required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with EPIC computer system is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years hospital experience preferred (high obs, progressive care, ICU).

• Assess, admit, transfer or discharge patients and complete documentation.
• Provide basic patient care as ordered by physician and per nursing standards.

Job description

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Westfields Hospital & Clinic's Med/Surg department, in collaboration with the attending physician and the health care team, supports and cares for patients in all areas of the critical access hospital. Duties include:

• Assesses, admits, transfers or discharges patients and completes all necessary documentation.
• Performs basic patient care responsibilities as ordered by the physician and per standards of nursing care, considering age-appropriate needs.
• Evaluates the patient’s condition and response to treatments, notifying the physician, charge nurse and other care givers as appropriate.

Work Schedule:

• 20 hours weekly - 0.5 FTE
• Evening and Night shifts
• Every third weekend rotation

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure in the State of Wisconsin required.
• BLS Certification required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in EPIC computer system
• Minimum of 2 years hospital experience, preferably high obs, progressive care, or ICU experience.
