Job summary

Westfields Hospital & Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med/Surg department to support the attending physician and the health care team across a critical access hospital setting. You will deliver patient care in accordance with nursing standards and complete necessary documentation.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, admissions/transfers/discharges, and monitoring responses to treatments with timely communication to physicians and the charge nurse.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; Wisconsin RN licensure required.
• BLS Certification required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Job description

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Westfields Hospital & Clinic's Med/Surg department, in collaboration with the attending physician and the health care team, supports and cares for patients in all areas of the critical access hospital. Duties include:

• Assesses, admits, transfers or discharges patients and completes all necessary documentation.
• Performs basic patient care responsibilities as ordered by the physician and per standards of nursing care, considering age-appropriate needs.
• Evaluates the patient's condition and response to treatments, notifying the physician, charge nurse and other care givers as appropriate.

Work Schedule:

• 24 hours weekly - 0.6 FTE
• Evening and Night shifts
• Every third weekend rotation

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure in the State of Wisconsin required.
• BLS Certification required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in EPIC computer system
• Minimum of 2 years hospital experience, preferably high obs, progressive care, or ICU experience.
