Job summary

Westfields Hospital & Clinic in New Richmond, Wisconsin is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg department to support the care of patients in a critical access hospital.

In collaboration with physicians and the health care team, you will assess, document, admit and discharge patients and provide age-appropriate nursing care while monitoring treatment responses.

The role includes evenings and nights for a 0.6 FTE schedule, every third weekend, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with WI RN licensure.
• BLS certified; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in hospital setting preferred; EPIC experience is a plus.

• Performs basic patient care as ordered by physician and per nursing standards.
• Evaluates patient condition and notifies physician and care team as appropriate.

Job description

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Westfields Hospital & Clinic's Med/Surg department, in collaboration with the attending physician and the health care team, supports and cares for patients in all areas of the critical access hospital. Duties include:

• Assesses, admits, transfers or discharges patients and completes all necessary documentation.
• Performs basic patient care responsibilities as ordered by the physician and per standards of nursing care, considering age-appropriate needs.
• Evaluates the patient’s condition and response to treatments, notifying the physician, charge nurse and other care givers as appropriate.

Work Schedule

• 24 hours weekly - 0.6 FTE
• Evening and Night shifts
• Every third weekend rotation

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure in the State of Wisconsin required.
• BLS Certification required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in EPIC computer system
• Minimum of 2 years hospital experience, preferably high obs, progressive care, or ICU experience.
