Job summary

Ascension is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical Psychiatry department at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. The role requires coordinating care under nursing standards, leading group therapy sessions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to tailor treatment plans.

Minimum requirements include Indiana RN licensure, BLS within 30 days, and a nursing diploma. Prior psychiatric experience is preferred and the schedule includes days, 36 hours weekly with weekend and holiday

• RN license (Indiana) required prior to hire date
• BLS certification within 1 month of hire date
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or equivalent licensure at time of hire
• Previous RN experience and prior psychiatric clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments and craft nursing care plans aligned with the patient’s master treatment plan.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, refine, and adapt goals and interventions.
• Lead or co-lead engaging group therapy sessions for assigned patients.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust care strategies as patient needs evolve

• Schedule: Days| Full-time | 36 hours per week | Hours: 7AM - 7:30PM, every third weekend rotation, holiday rotation

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Conduct initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments using nursing standards, and craft personalized nursing care plans tailored to each patient's master treatment plan.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to plan, refine, and adapt goals, objectives, and interventions for each patient's unique needs.
• Bring care plans to life for assigned patients while leading or co-leading engaging group therapy sessions.
• Evaluate patient progress and partner closely with team members to adjust care strategies as patient needs evolve.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

Required Credential(s)

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire
• Previous RN experience.
• Previous Psych experience
