Job summary

Progeny Human Resource Solutions seeks a Registered Nurse Manager for Emergency Services. The role leads the ER clinical service line and drives high-quality patient care, budget adherence, regulatory compliance, and staff development.

The RN Manager will supervise clinical, financial, environmental and HR functions, partner with medical staff, and implement policies to support safe, efficient care in a busy emergency department.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent Acute Care ED Charge RN experience.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 1 year of start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for and management of the Emergency Services clinical area.
• Coordinate patient care across the continuum during care events.
• Oversee clinical, financial, environmental and HR functions of the service area.
• Act as professional role model and liaison with the medical staff.
• Ensure department stays within budget and complies with regulatory requirements and HR matters.
• Integrate departmental services with hospital functions.
• Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures defining service scope.
• Ensure staffing levels with qualified personnel and provide orientation and training.
• Oversee disciplinary processes and staff evaluations.
• Keep staff informed of department and hospital updates.

Job Responsibilities

Registered Nurse Manager candidates for the Emergency Services Department will have the following job responsibilities:

• The Clinical Manager responsibilities include providing leadership for and management of the clinical service area.
• The service area will be centered on the care of the patients on a continuum related to a patient care event.
• Responsibilities include clinical, financial, environmental and employee related functions of the service area.
• The Clinical Manager is responsible for conducting themselves as a professional role model, being a clinical resource for and acting as liaison with the medical staff.
• Other functions include keeping department operation within budgetary boundaries, compliance with all regulatory requirements and human resource issues.
• Responsible for integrating their departments services with the hospitals primary functions.
• Coordinates and integrates services within the department(s) and with other departments.
• The Clinical Manager develops, implements and evaluates policies and procedures that define scope of service and guide and support the provision of services.
• Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care/service and assures the qualifications and competence of those staff members meet the needs of patient care and non-patient care services.
• Hires and evaluates new staff, provides for orientation, in-service training, continuing education and annual evaluation of all personnel in their department(s).
• Oversees any disciplinary processes and termination of employees in their department(s).
• The Clinical Manager is responsible for ensuring staff receives ongoing information/updates on the department and hospital levels.

Job Qualifications

Registered Nurse Manager candidates for the Emergency Services Department must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

• Will look at 2 years of Recent (Within the last year) Acute Care ED Charge RN with strong ED experience
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
