Job summary

Ascension is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery in Austin, TX. This full-time night-shift role includes a sign-on bonus of up to $12,500.

You will provide direct patient care, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and support discharge planning from a high-volume unit. The ideal candidate will hold a Texas RN license, a BLS certification, and a nursing diploma, with a focus on safe, compassionate care for mothers and newborns.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire.
• RN licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans while tracking patient condition and communicating changes to the care team.
• Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and executes physician and nursing orders accurately.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
