Job summary

Ascension is hiring a skilled Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery unit at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, TX. This full-time night-shift role focuses on coordinating patient care, implementing care plans, and ensuring smooth discharge planning in a high-acuity setting.

You’ll collaborate with physicians, nurses and other health professionals to monitor newborns and mothers, uphold patient safety, and deliver compassionate family-centered care.

Qualifications

• RN license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Preferred Credential(s):

• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

• Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program credentialed from the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
