Job summary

Ascension seeks a compassionate RN for the Labor and Delivery unit at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, TX. This full-time night-shift role emphasizes patient-centered care, care coordination, and strong clinical teamwork.

You’ll implement and monitor care plans, coordinate multi-disciplinary actions, and support discharge planning. Texas RN licensure and BLS within 30 days are required; neonatal resuscitation and STABLE credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS provider certification required within 30 days of hire date.
• RN credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing before start date.
• Diploma in nursing or equivalent licensure required.
• Prior LDRP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor patient care plans; communicate patient status.
• Serve as primary coordinator of multidisciplinary patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate discharge planning with healthcare team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program credentialed from the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
