Job summary

Ascension Health's Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced RN for Night Shift in Step Down Intermediate Care. You will provide expert direct nursing care to high-acuity patients and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective treatment.

This role requires a nursing diploma or higher and Texas RN licensure, with BLS within 30 days. Minimum 1 year in step-down or progressive care, and pro-rated PTO, tuition support, and comprehensive

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire, ACLS not required by ad.
• RN credentialed with the Texas Board of Nursing prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or equivalent licensure.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• High-Acuity Care Delivery: Provides expert direct nursing care for intermediate-level patients, strictly adhering to complex clinical policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Vigilant Patient Monitoring: Implements individualized care plans while meticulously tracking and communicating physiological changes to ensure timely medical interventions.
• Interdisciplinary Leadership: Acts as the primary coordinator across all medical disciplines to ensure seamless, well-synchronized patient care and treatment execution.
• Strategic Care Coordination: Precisely executes physician orders and leads comprehensive discharge planning to ensure a safe transition for high-risk patients.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
