Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking an ICU Nurse Staffing professional who will float across the Austin, TX metro area to provide direct patient care in multiple units. The role features a rotating PRN schedule and a pay rate of $60 per hour.

You will deliver compassionate care, monitor and implement care plans, and serve as the central liaison among disciplines to ensure seamless patient journeys. Clear documentation and adherence to protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience.
• Proven ability to navigate and provide autonomous direct care in a float/resource team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality direct patient care across diverse specialty units.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and execute physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate patient journeys as central communication link among healthcare teams.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate direct patient care across diverse specialty units in adherence to all established organizational protocols.
• Implement and continuously monitor patient care plans, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate all aspects of a patient's journey by serving as the central link for communication and assessment among all disciplines within the healthcare team.
• Communicate and meticulously record all patient conditions, observations, and interventions to ensure a seamless, well-coordinated care plan.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• Certified BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
• Certified Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience demonstrating clinical competency across diverse, high-acuity patient populations.
• Proven ability to successfully navigate and provide autonomous direct care in a multi-unit, float, or resource team environment.
