Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited program (or ADN with commitment to BSN/MSN within 2 years).
• Illinois license to practice as a registered nurse.
• CPR certification.
• Understanding of growth and development across age groups to meet patient needs.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for comfort and well-being of patients, including specialized treatments and medication administration.
• Collect physiological, psychosocial, and functional data to formulate nursing diagnoses using evidence-based techniques.
• Assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Formulate nursing diagnoses and integrate into written assessments.
• Assess patients, identify changes, set care priorities, and address crisis situations when needed.
• Implement and evaluate interventions and modify the care plan as indicated.
• Provide patient and family education regarding care, home care instructions, and referrals.
• Prepare reports on patient care plans and maintain thorough documentation.
• Review and contribute to policies to ensure comprehensive patient care.
