Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide individualized, age-specific nursing assessments and develop care plans. You will coordinate comprehensive nursing care, instruct patients and families, and ensure documentation to support patient outcomes.

You will work under the Nurse Manager, contribute to mission-driven care, and uphold core values of compassion, collaboration, and excellence in a dynamic rehabilitation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Illinois license to practice as a registered nurse.
• CPR certification is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for patient comfort and well-being, including specialized treatments and administering medications.
• Collect physiological, psychosocial, and functional data to inform nursing diagnoses.
• Assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Formulate nursing diagnoses and document assessments clearly.
• Assess patient status, set priorities, and identify crisis situations when needed.
• Implement care plans and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to reach goals.
• Educate patients and families about care, home instructions, and referrals.
• Prepare and provide reports on patient care plans to team members and documentations.
• Review and contribute to SRAlab policies to ensure comprehensive patient care.
