Job summary

Ascension in the Austin area seeks a rotating PRN ICU Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care across diverse units, floating to wherever needed in the Austin metro.

You will implement care plans, coordinate with the care team, and document patient conditions and interventions to ensure seamless care. Requires ICU experience, current RN license, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years acute care; compensation is $60 per hour; benefits include 403(b) and EAP.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire, AHA/ARC accepted.
• ACLS certification required or preferred.
• Current RN license before hire date.
• Minimum two years of acute care ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality direct patient care across diverse units as needed.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; ensure timely execution of orders.
• Coordinate patient journey as central link among disciplines and care team.
• Record patient conditions and interventions accurately to ensure coordinated care.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate direct patient care across diverse specialty units in adherence to all established organizational protocols.
• Implement and continuously monitor patient care plans, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate all aspects of a patient's journey by serving as the central link for communication and assessment among all disciplines within the healthcare team.
• Communicate and meticulously record all patient conditions, observations, and interventions to ensure a seamless, well-coordinated care plan.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Certified BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Advanced Life Support . American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Certified Advanced Life Support . American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support . American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience demonstrating clinical competency across diverse, high-acuity patient populations.
• Proven ability to successfully navigate and provide autonomous direct care in a multi-unit, float, or resource team environment.
