Job summary

Ascension is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to float across locations in the Austin, TX metro area on a rotating PRN schedule. You will deliver high-quality direct patient care, implement care plans, coordinate patient journeys, and meticulously document conditions and interventions across diverse units.

This role requires an OR nursing background with at least two years of experience and current RN licensure; BLS is required within 30 days of hire, AHA/ARC acceptable.

Qualifications

• Certified BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate direct patient care across diverse specialty units following organizational protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; ensure timely execution of physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate all aspects of a patient's journey as the central link for communication and assessment among disciplines.
• Record all patient conditions, observations, and interventions to maintain a coordinated care plan.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate direct patient care across diverse specialty units in adherence to all established organizational protocols.
• Implement and continuously monitor patient care plans, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate all aspects of a patient's journey by serving as the central link for communication and assessment among all disciplines within the healthcare team.
• Communicate and meticulously record all patient conditions, observations, and interventions to ensure a seamless, well-coordinated care plan.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s): Certified BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Preferred Credential(s)

• Certified Advanced Life Support . American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Minimum of two years of recent Operating Room nursing experience demonstrating clinical competency across diverse, high-acuity patient populations.
• Proven ability to successfully navigate and provide autonomous direct care in a multi-unit, float, or resource team environment.
