Job summary

Ascension is seeking an OR Nurse to support staffing across the Austin, TX metro area on a rotating PRN basis. The role involves delivering direct patient care in diverse units, coordinating care plans with the healthcare team, and ensuring accurate documentation.

You will float to multiple locations, providing autonomous, high-quality nursing support when needed. Qualified candidates will have a nursing diploma, current RN licensure, and at least two years of OR nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure at time of hire.
• Minimum of two years of Operating Room nursing experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate direct patient care across diverse units while following organizational protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and ensure timely execution of physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate all aspects of a patient’s journey as the central communication link among disciplines.
• Record all patient conditions, observations, and interventions accurately for a coordinated care plan.

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate direct patient care across diverse specialty units in adherence to all established organizational protocols.
• Implement and continuously monitor patient care plans, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate all aspects of a patient's journey by serving as the central link for communication and assessment among all disciplines within the healthcare team.
• Communicate and meticulously record all patient conditions, observations, and interventions to ensure a seamless, well-coordinated care plan.

What Minimum Requirements Youll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Certified BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Certified Advanced Life Support . American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Minimum of two years of recent Operating Room nursing experience demonstrating clinical competency across diverse, high-acuity patient populations.
• Proven ability to successfully navigate and provide autonomous direct care in a multi-unit, float, or resource team environment.
