Job summary

Ascension in Austin is seeking a skilled registered nurse to join the Hyperbaric Wound Care team on Day Shift and PRN coverage. You will develop and monitor patient care plans and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires active Texas RN licensure, BLS within 1 month, a nursing diploma, and 2–3 years inpatient experience with wound care preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (Texas) prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or equivalent licensure.
• Active nursing licensure in Texas required.

• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of nursing experience in an inpatient or acute care setting
• 1 year in wound care or related specialty
• Certified Wound Care Nurse is preferred
