Ascension Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Scrub/Circulating Nurse for night shifts, 36 hours per week. Position involves assisting physicians, preparing operating rooms, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after procedures.

The role requires active RN licensure, ACLS/BLS credentials within specified timelines, and a nursing Diploma. Eligible for comprehensive benefits and professional development through Ascension.

Qualifications

• Certified Registered Nurse required prior to hire date
• ACLS within 6 months of hire date (AHA/ARC accepted)
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date (AHA/ARC accepted)
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or professional licensure at time of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Certified Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Certified Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Certified BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
