Ascension is seeking a dedicated RN to join the Neuro Intensive Care Unit in Austin, TX. The role offers day shifts, full-time 36 hours, rotating weekends, and a focus on high-acuity care delivery with strict safety protocols.

You will coordinate across disciplines, monitor patients, implement care plans, and lead discharge planning to ensure safe transitions for high-risk cases. Requires Texas RN license and BLS, with a nursing diploma.

Qualifications

• RN with a diploma from an accredited nursing program; or equivalent licensure.
• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month of hire; accepted by AHA or ARC.
• Texas Board of Nursing RN credential required before hire.

• High-Acuity Care Delivery: Provides expert direct nursing care for intermediate-level patients per complex policies and safety protocols.
• Vigilant Patient Monitoring: Implements care plans and communicates physiologic changes for timely interventions.

• Schedule: Day shift | Full-time 36 hours (3 - 12 hour shifts) - 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Rotating weekends

• High-Acuity Care Delivery: Provides expert direct nursing care for intermediate-level patients, strictly adhering to complex clinical policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Vigilant Patient Monitoring: Implements individualized care plans while meticulously tracking and communicating physiological changes to ensure timely medical interventions.
• Interdisciplinary Leadership: Acts as the primary coordinator across all medical disciplines to ensure seamless, well-synchronized patient care and treatment execution.
• Strategic Care Coordination: Precisely executes physician orders and leads comprehensive discharge planning to ensure a safe transition for high-risk patients.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
