Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Free Standing ER in South Tampa. The ER RN provides direct patient care, triage, and clinical support in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license and a nursing degree, with 1 year ER experience and required BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. This in-person, full-time position includes comprehensive benefits and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• ER nursing experience is required.
• RN license is required by the state.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a hospital setting using the nursing process.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.
• Collaborate with patients and families to plan and implement care.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to emergencies promptly.
• Document care and changes in patient condition accurately.
• Assist in coordinating patient care across disciplines.

• Status: Full Time

• Shift: Varies 3p/7p

• Every other weekend commitment

• On Call: No

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License

• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing

• 1 year registered nurse ER experience

• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards

• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team

• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others

• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment

• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.

• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition

• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients

• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
