Job summary

Ascension's Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX invites registered nurses with 1+ year bedside experience to join the Winter 2027 Nurse Fellowship in Pediatric Care. This full-time night-shift program supports transitioning RNs into a new clinical specialty through mentorship and structured patient care.

You will provide direct patient care, observe patient changes, document in EHR, and implement care plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or active RN licensure.
• BLS certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire date.
• Minimum of 1 year bedside RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as an RN, following established clinical protocols and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
• Observe, document, and communicate changes in patient condition to ensure safe, coordinated patient care.
• Implement and monitor individualized care plans, executing physician orders and nursing interventions to promote quality improvement and patient safety.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR).
• Participate in the RN Fellowship program designed for RNs transitioning into a new clinical specialty.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Participate in the Registered Nurse Fellowship program designed for Registered Nurses (RN) with more than one year of experience transitioning into a new clinical specialty.
• Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN), following established clinical protocols and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
• Observe, document, and communicate changes in patient condition to ensure safe, coordinated patient care and improved clinical outcomes.
• Implement and monitor individualized care plans, executing physician orders and nursing interventions to promote quality improvement and patient safety.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) to support compliance, continuity of care, and regulatory standards.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Certified BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
