Job summary

BayCare in Riverview, FL, is seeking an experienced RN for the ER at St. Joseph's South. The role is full-time, in-person, with shifts from 2:45 PM to 3:15 AM and every other weekend. You will deliver compassionate, high-quality care to acutely ill patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Required are an active RN license, nursing degree, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS). This position reflects BayCare’s commitment to mentorship, teamwork, and career growth within a large health system.

Qualifications

• RN license active in Florida.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ER using nursing process and standards.
• Delegate tasks to health care team members as appropriate.
• Prioritize and update care plans with patients and families.
• Identify at-risk patients and prepare room environment accordingly.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient vitals and changes.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Maintain professional accountability and ongoing development.

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse - responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
