Job summary

Ascension Saint Alexius in Hoffman Estates, IL is seeking a Night shift, Full-time Emergency Room Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality emergency care. You will perform rapid patient assessments, implement critical care plans, and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective interventions.

Minimum requirements include an Illinois RN license and BLS certification, with at least 1 year ER/ICU experience or 2 years MS experience.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license and BLS within 30 days of hire date.
• 1 year of cumulative job-specific ER/ICU experience or 2 years in medical-surgical settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care through rapid assessments and critical care plans in a fast-paced ED.
• Serve as primary care coordinator across multidisciplinary emergency teams to execute physician orders and manage complex treatments.
• Oversee the patient trajectory from triage and stabilization to discharge planning in coordination with the healthcare team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preference

• 1 year RN emergency room or ICU experience or 2 years medical surgical experience.
