Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department team at St. Vincent Fishers Hospital in Fishers, IN.

This role involves a rotating shift and PRN coverage, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ED environment. The RN must be licensed prior to hire, have BLS and ALS within specified windows, and ideally hold Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with required license prior to hire date.
• ALS within 6 months of hire date (AHA/Red Cross accepted).
• BLS within 30 days of hire date.
• PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans and communicates patient condition.
• Coordinates discipline-wide care for well-coordinated patient care.
• Follows physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• One or more of the following:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Preferred Credential(s):

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
