Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking an experienced RN to join the Ascension St. Vincent surgical team in Fishers, IN.

The role involves delivering professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures, performing scrub and circulating functions, and directly assisting surgeons. The successful candidate will prepare operating rooms and instruments, monitor patient status, and coordinate nursing care before, during, and after procedures.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license required prior to hire date.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire date. ACLS accepted.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date. BLS accepted.

Responsibilities

• Delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Performs scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure and patient positioning.
• Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• One or more of the following:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Preferred Credential(s):

• Approved Local Exception. Approved Local Exception for TN to add NRP. Do not use if not TN.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
