Ascension Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will provide direct patient care, implement care plans, monitor conditions and document in the EHR to support safe and timely decisions.

You’ll collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, assist with discharge planning and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Licensing, life support credentials and prior ED experience are valued.

Competenze

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.
• CPR/BLS and at least one advanced life support credential.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program; valid licensure at hire.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse, implementing individualized care plans that improve patient safety, clinical quality, and overall patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient conditions, maintain accurate clinical documentation in EHR systems, and communicate updates to support timely patient care decisions.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless care coordination, treatment efficiency, and positive patient experiences.
• Support discharge planning and administer nursing interventions in compliance with healthcare regulations, patient safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Instructor specializing in Advanced Cardio Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Instructor specializing in Pediatric Adv Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences:

• 2 years previous emergency department experience preferred.
