Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN seeks an experienced registered nurse for the Cardiac Operating Room. You will perform scrub and circulating roles, support surgeons and anesthesia, and ensure all cardiovascular procedures run smoothly.

The role requires an TN RN license, BLS, and nursing diploma with circulating experience. This is a full-time day shift in a collaborative, mission-driven environment within Ascension.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Tennessee required.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or equivalent licensure.
• Circulating experience preferred; OR/CTOR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions and handling of instruments and supplies during complex cardiovascular procedures.
• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing nursing care during cardiovascular procedures.
• Assist physicians and anesthesia with accessing and maintaining lines and intubation during cardiovascular procedures.
• Prepare cardiovascular operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
