Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN, seeks an OR Operations & Staffing Manager to orchestrate daily scheduling, room assignments, and add-on cases, driving throughput with anesthesia coordination and relief staffing.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date. Applicable certifications accepted.
• RN license from Tennessee Board of Nursing or compact state recognition.
• Certified First Surgical Assistant or NBSTSA/NCCSA acceptable.
• NBSTSA Surgical Tech credentialed prior to hire date.
• Central Service Tech in Sterile Processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dynamic Operations & Staffing Management: orchestrates daily OR scheduling, room assignments, and add-on cases; collaborates with Anesthesia for second-room allocations and staff relief.
• Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: conducts regular OR rounds, enforces surgical attire protocols, and verifies emergency equipment daily.
• Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication: partners with OR leadership and ancillary departments to communicate real-time schedule changes and maintain readiness.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Dynamic Operations & Staffing Management: Strategically orchestrates daily OR scheduling, room assignments, and add-on cases; optimizes throughput by collaborating with Anesthesia for second-room allocations and efficiently managing staff break/lunch relief.
• Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: Serves as the frontline defender of clinical standards by conducting regular OR rounds, enforcing strict surgical attire protocols, and ensuring daily verification of all emergency equipment.
• Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication: Partners closely with OR leadership, staff, and ancillary departments to seamlessly communicate real-time schedule changes, ensuring total alignment and operational readiness.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home statelicense for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Certified First Surgical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Associates who hired/transferred before 04/30/2018 are not required to hold certification. The following Issuing Authorities are acceptable: NBSTSA, ABSA, and NCCSA.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting(NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• Licensed Registered Nurse highly preferred.
• Must be able to work a 3 x 12 schedule
