Job summary

Ascension is seeking an experienced OR Float Pool nurse in Nashville, TN to act as the patient’s advocate and ensure safe transitions to recovery. You will oversee sterile field integrity, patient positioning, equipment optimization, and supply management across procedures.

The role emphasizes leading the OR rhythm, coordinating with the surgical team, and ensuring flawless execution of each procedure. A TN RN license with required certifications is essential, with flexibility for a PRN schedule.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current compact-state license.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire date or transfer date (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted).
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted).

Responsibilities

• Clinical Advocate & Care Strategist: be the patient's primary voice during vulnerable moments and communicate their condition with clinical precision.
• Safety & Precision Sentinel: maintain sterile field integrity, ensure accurate patient positioning, equipment optimization, and supply management from incision to closure.
• Master of OR Operations: lead room rhythm, coordinate preparation of technology and supplies for flawless procedures.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Clinical Advocate & Care Strategist: You are the patient's primary voice during their most vulnerable moments. By monitoring, recording, and communicating their condition with clinical precision, you ensure a safe, seamless transition to recovery.
• Safety & Precision Sentinel: Serve as the final authority on the sterile field. You'll maintain absolute integrity over patient positioning, equipment optimization, and supply management, ensuring 100% accuracy from the first incision to the final closure.
• Master of OR Operations: Lead the rhythm of the room. By staying three steps ahead of the surgical team, you'll orchestrate the preparation of cutting-edge technology and supplies to ensure every procedure is executed flawlessly.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi‑state license recognition \"Compact State\" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Needing a flexible schedule and weekly availability
• Previous specialty experience with Spine, Ortho/Joints, Cardiac, Plastics, General and GYN
