Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN seeks a Surgical Technologist to support the Cardiac Operating Room team. Responsibilities include preparing the sterile field, passing instruments, positioning patients, and maintaining instrument counts to ensure safe procedures.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire, AHA or Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credential from NBSTSA prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating suite with sterile drapes/solutions and instruments.
• Hand instruments to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain organized instrument counts throughout procedures.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
