Job summary

Ascension via Christi in Wichita, KS is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse to lead comprehensive patient care on nights. The role supports personalized care plans, patient advocacy, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced critical care environment.

The position emphasizes monitoring patient conditions, communicating changes in real time, and guiding families through discharge planning to ensure safe transitions. RN licensure in Kansas and BLS/ACLS certifications are required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 6 months of hire date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive patient care by implementing and adapting personalized care plans prioritizing safety and recovery.
• Act as primary clinical coordinator to bridge multidisciplinary teams for holistic healing.
• Monitor and communicate shifts in patient conditions to support life-saving decisions by the medical team.
• Manage discharge planning to support smooth transitions for patients and families.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
