Job summary

Ascension Via Christi St. Peter in Derby, KS is hiring a registered nurse to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care on Med Surg, day and night shifts.

You will develop and monitor care plans, communicate changes to the clinical team, coordinate across disciplines, and support safe, timely discharges.

Required RN license and BLS, Diploma in Nursing; tuition discounts available through partnership with Wichita State University.

Qualifications

• RN license is required.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing is required or professional nursing licensure at time of hire.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

- Lead the delivery of compassionate, direct nursing care by following established protocols to ensure every patient receives high-quality, safe treatment.
- Create and manage comprehensive patient care plans, monitoring and communicating changes in condition to ensure the clinical team can respond effectively to patient needs.
- Support a seamless patient experience by acting as the primary coordinator across all medical disciplines, ensuring care is well-integrated and collaborative.
- Coordinate safe and efficient discharge transitions by collaborating with the healthcare team to prepare patients and families for the next step in their recovery journey.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

- Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
