Job summary

Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, KS seeks a responsible RN for the Emergency Department. The role supports patient-centered care, tracks progress and communicates milestones to care teams.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary care, execute orders, and educate patients and families for admission or discharge. Minimum requirements include a nursing diploma, Kansas RN licensure, and ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications with ED experience.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 6 months of hire date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date (ARC/ AHA accepted)
• PALS within 6 months of hire date (ARC/ AHA accepted)
• Registered Nurse credentialed from Kansas Board of Nursing required prior to hire date

Responsibilities

• Champion individualized patient care plans by tracking progress and communicating updates to care providers and patients
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care teams to deliver holistic treatment during patient stay
• Execute physician and advanced nursing orders to ensure timely interventions and outcomes
• Prepare patients and families for admission or discharge with clear education on diagnoses, medications and follow-up care

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Champion individualized patient care plans by tracking progress, charting milestones and communicating vital updates to care providers and patients.
• Orchestrate multidisciplinary care teams to deliver seamless, holistic treatment throughout each patient's stay.
• Execute physician and advanced nursing orders to ensure timely interventions and optimal clinical outcomes
• Prepare patients and families for admission or discharge by delivering clear, compassionate education on emergent diagnosis, home medications and necessary follow-up care.
  

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
  

Work Experience

• 1 plus years RN experience in ED
  

Additional Preferences

• 1 plus years RN experience in ICU
