Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, KS is seeking a dedicated RN for the Night Shift in the Mother Baby Unit to deliver compassionate nursing care.

You will coordinate a multidisciplinary team, monitor patient conditions, and support safe discharge planning, with a focus on safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date, AHA or Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date, AHA or Red Cross accepted.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification obtained within 6 months of hire, AAP credentialed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, aligned with safety standards.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless and holistic patient care.
• Monitor and interpret patient conditions in real-time and document precisely.
• Initiate and manage comprehensive discharge plans to ensure safe transition home.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, ensuring every action aligns with the highest safety standards and organizational excellence.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team of specialists to ensure patient care is seamless, holistic, and focused on the best possible clinical outcomes.
• Monitor and interpret patient conditions in real-time, acting as the vital link between the patient and the medical team through proactive communication and precise documentation.
• Advocate for the patientâs journey by initiating and managing comprehensive discharge plans, ensuring a safe and successful transition from hospital to home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Minimum 1 year acute care RN experience on NICU or PICU required.
