Job summary

Ascension is seeking a dedicated registered nurse for the Adult Psychiatric Nursing Unit at Ascension Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in Hoffman Estates, IL. You will provide direct nursing care to behavioral health patients during night shifts, create and update care plans, and work with a multidisciplinary team to achieve treatment goals.

The role requires an IL RN license, BLS, and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care within a supportive, Episcopal health system

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire/transfer.
• RN credentialed by Illinois Board of Nursing prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provided direct nursing care to behavioral health patients and conducted biopsychosocial assessments.
• Developed and updated individualized nursing care plans aligned with multidisciplinary goals.
• Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care and revise treatment objectives.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provided direct nursing care to behavioral health patients, conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and monitoring patient progress throughout treatment.
• Developed, implemented, and updated individualized nursing care plans aligned with multidisciplinary treatment goals and patient needs.
• Collaborated with interdisciplinary treatment teams to participate in case conferences, revise treatment objectives, and coordinate patient-centered care.
• Facilitated therapeutic interventions, including group therapy sessions, evaluated patient responses to treatment, and modified care plans to support positive clinical outcomes.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
