Ascension seeks an experienced registered nurse for the Adult Psychiatric Nursing Unit at Ascension Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in Hoffman Estates, IL. This full-time day shift role includes 3x12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday commitments, requiring compassionate patient care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire date.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Minimum of one year RN experience, preferably in behavioral health.

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and deliver direct nursing care to guide patients through individualized treatment journeys.
• Design, implement and adapt personalized care plans that align with multidisciplinary clinical goals and evolving patient needs.
• Partner with interdisciplinary care teams in case conferences to refine treatment objectives and ensure seamless, coordinated care.
• Facilitate therapeutic group sessions and clinical interventions, continuously evaluating patient progress to drive positive health outcomes.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

• A minimum of one year of registered nurse experience preferably within the field of behavioral health is highly desired.
