Job summary

Akua Behavioral Health in California seeks a Clinical Technician to support clients in a leading mental health and substance use treatment center. The role involves daily direct care, crisis intervention, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to foster recovery.

You will conduct rounds, participate in intakes and discharges, observe medications, facilitate group sessions, and document in KIPU, upholding compassionate care and professional ethics.

Qualifications

• License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC required.
• Education: HS diploma/GED or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years behavioral healthcare experience preferred.
• Additional: Valid CA Driver's License; Health Screen/Physical; TB Test Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: support patients with addiction and mental health through daily activities and programming.
• Safety Checks: conduct regular rounds and safety assessments.
• Intakes & Discharges: lead patient intakes and discharges.
• Medication Observation: monitor and document self-administration of meds.
• Group Facilitation: run group sessions (life skills, therapy, outings).
• Documentation: record notes in KIPU EMR.

Description

Position: Clinical Technician

Type: Hourly, Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $23 hourly

Available Shifts:

• Tuesday-Saturday (07:45am-04:15pm)

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. “rounds”).
• Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.
• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures.
• Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).
• Documentation: Take all required notes in the company's electronic medical record system (KIPU).

Requirements

Qualifications:
