Job summary

Akua Mind Body in California seeks a Clinical Technician to provide direct client care for patients with addiction and mental health disorders. The role includes observation, crisis intervention, and participation in group sessions, with focus on accurate documentation in the EMR system.

Qualifications include RADT/SUDRC/RAC licensure, a CA driver’s license, and health/safety clearances. This is an hourly, full-time, non-exempt position with daytime shifts and a supportive treatment environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year experience in behavioral healthcare or related field.
• Licensure: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC required.
• Valid CA Driver's License required.
• Current Health Screen / Physical required.
• TB Test Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: support patients with addiction and mental health through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: conduct regular rounds of all patients.
• Intakes & Discharges: lead patient intakes and discharges from the facility.
• Medication Observation: monitor and document patient self-administration per policies.
• Group Facilitation: participate in and facilitate group sessions (life skills, art therapy, outings).
• Documentation: record notes in the electronic medical record system (KIPU).

Available Shifts

• Monday-Friday (12:00pm-8:30pm)

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. “rounds”).
• Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.
• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures.
• Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).
• Documentation: Take all required notes in the company’s electronic medical record system (KIPU).

Requirements

• License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC (required).
• Education: High School Diploma / GED or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
• Experience: 1+ years of behavioral healthcare experience (preferred)
