Job summary

AKUA Behavioral Health is seeking a Clinical Technician in California to support patients with addiction and mental health needs. This hourly, full-time, non-exempt role involves direct client care, safety checks, intakes and discharges, medication observation, group sessions, and detailed documentation in KIPU EMR.

Requirements include RADT/SUDRC/RAC credentials (or willingness to obtain), a high school diploma or Bachelor's degree, and 1+ year behavioral healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• RADT, SUDRC, or RAC credentials required or willingness to obtain (9-hour online course).
• 1+ year of behavioral healthcare experience preferred.
• Valid CA Driver's License and health clearance (TB test, health screen) required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: support patients with addiction and mental health through daily activities and programming.
• Safety Checks: conduct regular rounds and monitor patient well-being.
• Intakes & Discharges: assist with admissions and releases from the facility.
• Medication Observation: monitor and document self-administration per policies.
• Group Facilitation: participate in and lead group sessions.
• Documentation: record notes in the KIPU EMR accurately.

Clinical Technician

Compensation:

$21-23 hourly

Available Shifts:

• AM (6:30am - 3:00pm)

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. rounds).
• Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.
• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.
• Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).
• Documentation: Take all required notes in the company's electronic medical record system (KIPU).

Requirements

Qualifications:

• License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC (required); candidates who are willing to get their RADT/SUDRC/RAC (9-hour online course) are encouraged to apply
• Education: High School Diploma / GED or Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
• Experience: 1+ years of behavioral healthcare experience (preferred)
