Job summary

Akua Behavioral Health in California seeks a Clinical Technician to support patients in addiction and mental health programs. This full-time, non-exempt, hourly position offers engaging daily activities and crisis intervention in a licensed treatment setting.

Available shift Tue-Sat 07:45am-04:15pm with opportunities to participate in group sessions and document care in the EMR system. Candidates should have relevant licenses and a health screen; CA driver license is required.

Qualifications

• RADT, SUDRC, or RAC license/certification is required.
• High School Diploma / GED or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
• 1+ year of behavioral healthcare experience (preferred).
• Valid CA Driver's License (required).
• Current Health Screen / Physical (required).
• TB Test Clearance (required).

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. “rounds”).
• Intakes & Discharges: Lead patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring clients feel welcome.
• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications per policies.
• Group Facilitation: Lead group sessions (life skills, art therapy, outings).
• Documentation: Record notes in the company's EMR system (KIPU).

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. “rounds”).
• Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.
• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures.
• Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).
• Documentation: Take all required notes in the company's electronic medical record system (KIPU).
