Job summary

Akua Behavioral Health is seeking a Clinical Technician to provide direct client care for patients with addiction and mental health needs. You will work the NOC shift (10:30pm–7:00am) on-site in California, documenting care in KIPU EMR and participating in group sessions.

Required are RADT/SUDRC/RAC credentials, a CA driver’s license, and TB clearance, with at least 1 year in behavioral health preferred; HS diploma or GED, or a Bachelor’s degree, are eligible qualifications.

Qualifications

• License/credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC required.
• Education: HS diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1+ year behavioral health experience preferred.
• Valid CA Driver's License required.
• TB Test Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: support patients with addiction and mental health needs through daily activities and programming.
• Safety Checks: conduct rounds and monitor patient well-being.
• Intakes & Discharges: manage patient intake and discharge processes.
• Medication Observation: observe and document self-administration per policies.
• Group Facilitation: lead or participate in group sessions.
• Documentation: record notes in KIPU EMR.

Clinical Technician

Compensation:

$23 hourly

Available Shifts:

• NOC (10:30pm - 7:00am)

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. “rounds”).
• Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.
• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures.
• Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).
• Documentation: Take all required notes in the company's electronic medical record system (KIPU).

Requirements

Qualifications:

• License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC (required)

• Experience: 1+ years of behavioral healthcare experience (preferred)
