Job summary

Akua Mind Body in California is hiring a Clinical Technician to provide direct client care to individuals in recovery, support daily programming, and participate in crisis intervention during evening shifts. You will conduct safety checks, assist with intakes and discharges, observe medications, facilitate group sessions, and document notes in KIPU EMR.

The role is hourly, full-time, non-exempt with benefits including health insurance and PTO; valid CA driver's license and health screenings

Qualifications

• RADT, SUDRC, or RAC required.
• High School Diploma / GED or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid CA Driver's License required.
• Health Screen / TB Test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: support patients daily activities and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: conduct rounds and monitor patient wellbeing.
• Intakes & Discharges: assist with admissions and releases from the facility.
• Medication Observation: monitor and document self-administration per policy.
• Group Facilitation: participate in and lead group sessions (life skills, etc.).
• Documentation: record notes in KIPU EMR.

Position: Clinical Technician

Type: Hourly, Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $23 hourly

Available Shifts:

• PM (2:30pm - 11:00pm)

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.


• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. \"rounds\").


• Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.


• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.


• Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).


• Documentation: Take all required notes in the company's electronic medical record system (KIPU).

Requirements

Qualifications:

• License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC (required)


• Education: High School Diploma / GED or Bachelor's Degree (preferred)


• Experience: 1+ years of behavioral healthcare experience (preferred)


• Additional:


• Valid CA Driver's License (required)
