Job summary

Akua Behavioral Health seeks a Clinical Technician to provide direct client care in a California treatment facility. The role supports patients with addiction and mental health challenges through daily activities, programming, and crisis intervention, while adhering to facility policies.

The position requires processing intakes and discharges, supervising medication self-administration, and facilitating group sessions.

Qualifications

• License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC (required).
• Education: HS Diploma / GED or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
• Experience: 1+ years in behavioral healthcare (preferred).
• Additional: Valid CA Driver's License (required).
• Health Screen / Physical (required).
• TB Test Clearance (required).

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: support patients with addiction and mental health needs through daily activities and programming.
• Safety Checks: conduct regular rounds for all patients in care.
• Intakes & Discharges: lead patient intakes and discharges.
• Medication Observation: monitor and document self-administration of medications.
• Group Facilitation: participate in and facilitate group sessions (life skills, art therapy, outings).
• Documentation: record notes in the EMR (KIPU).

Position: Clinical Technician

Type: Hourly, Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $23 hourly

Available Shifts:

• AM (6:30am - 3:00pm)
• PM (2:30pm-11:00pm)
• NOC (10:30pm-7:00am)

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. “rounds”).
• Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.
• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures.
• Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).
• Documentation: Take all required notes in the company's electronic medical record system (KIPU).
